R-09HR Schematic
« on: November 02, 2017, 01:26:46 PM »
Hi. I'm a newbie here. I found my way here due to a problem with my R-09HR.

The unit no longer powers up following attempted operation with a non standard and incorrect power supply.

I'm hoping that there is some internal protection circuitry for over-voltage and that the unit can be repaired. A quick internal examination didn't reveal anything obvious and I wouldn't relish tracing the circuit through from the device itself ...

The question for the forum is can anyone supply circuits (schematics) pcb layouts or other material that would assist with the diagnosis and repair of the unit?

Thanks for the link to a fine review of the R-09HR by Sonic Studios. The two photographs of the analogue input PCB near the top of the are undoubtedly useful for reference and may save some unnecessary dismantling of the unit. However, to advance diagnosis, a circuit schematic for this board is required. Or did I miss something hidden in the page ...

Can the recorder still be operated using AA battery power?

No. The recorder will not power up on AA batteries or with an external PSU.

The R-09HR recorder is powered with two AA batteries or with external DC power. Why do you say it doesn't?

Because it's broken.  ;D

H&H is correct. The R44 has a similar thing where an internal fuse would blow if the wrong polarity PS was used BUT it still worked normally with AA batteries. I would start looking for a replacement or another R09 with donor boards to offer.
