i saw an old thread about making or buying a dummy battery and putting it in the battery sled on a littlebox...
just wondering if those are the easiest ways to do do this.
does anyone make a battery sled with the dc jack built in?

I've thought about something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Shure-Battery-Eliminator-Adapter-Wireless/dp/B000A31R9K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1339600751&sr=8-1,
but don't plan to do anything with it :). It would need a DIN3 connector on the box and, of course, a cable between the two. My AA-powered Littlebox seems to have plenty of juice for the shows I'm recording.
-
i'd overlook the 50 dollar price if it had a normal dc jack, plus i'd still have to drill a hole in the battery sled.

paging jon
can you link me a part number for the battery sled?
-
Jon may be able to mod your littlebox to accommodate a DIN3 connection that you can then use with a dvd or RC 7.2 volt battery. Any reason you would want the littlebox powered by AC? Most people are quite impressed with DC run times

i got the littlebox mainly for home recording, don't do much remote. i liked it mainly because it was small. it supposedly will get 2 hours with p48, which is still good if i do a remote session, but for home recording i might want to do an all day session.
what i think is the best thing is to get an alternate sled, and either make or buy a dummy battery and have a female dc connector mounted to the new sled. i don't want to disfigure the current sled in case i destroy it. most cheapo dc wall warts do not have din connectors on them as far as i know.

You can have the tray that came with my LB - a previous owner had done a similar mod to the one I think you're describing - ie it has a hole in the back of it.
Happy to bung it in the post to you. Can post a pic later if you like.
-
Here's a pic - as you can see, the inside face has also been chopped down a bit too.

thanks jon
i later saw that it is a bulgin tray.
i don't want to ruffle feathers in any way. i thought there was a thead somehere out there where you said any 12v wall wart would work to power the little box. i'm not in the u.s, maybe a little concerned with the warranty, but if it's a safe bet, i'd try it.
do you think that it would be reasonably safe not to destroy the unit with a decent 12v dc wall wart?
ps. yousef, that's a very kind and generous offer. thank you. i may take you up on it once i figure out if i won't destroy the littlebox.
