Thread Adaptor and Mic Bar questions
« on: October 30, 2005, 11:53:23 PM »
Hey all,

Well I'm finally getting a mic stand to do some open taping with. I'm picking up a Bogen 3336 so that I can do stack taping if need be.

The only problem is that I don't know where to go from here. I know I need a thread adaptor and a mic bar.

The mics I'd be running at the moment are AT831s. Sound Pros offers a bar for $40 that would work.

Is this the way to go at the moment? I do plan on upgrading my rig sometime next year so I'd rather not drop a lot of money on a bar I'm not going to be using for more than a few months. If I go this route, how wide should I get the bar to go? I love stereo separation but I don't want it to sounds odd when I run my card mics.

When I upgrade my rig, I plan to upgrade to a AKG KM235/1 bar

I'm looking for a thread adapator that will work on both mic bars. I have no clue what to be looking for though. Any help or direction would be great. Thanks a lot everyone.
