Title: My rig with the MP-2 addition...
Post by: nickgregory on May 31, 2003, 02:48:21 PM
I have taped three shows since I bought the MP-2 from Scott (Particle, New Monsoon and Cast Iron Filter last night) and I have to say I am amazed at how good the tapes sound.  So I am running 391(3)s>MP2>Mod SBM1>D100  and basically prior, I was using the B-18 power supplies with a pair of AT transformers , and while those tapes were solid to my ears at the time, the mp2 adds a warmness that just sounds damn nice.

It is amazing to me the quality of tapes that can be made with a mid range rig!

The particle show is avail on the archive if anyone is interested:

And once I get the New Monsoon set converted and the CIF show mixed (thanks to Jamie Lykos I am mixing a SBD>Minime tape in with it!) I will offer them up here and add them to the archive as well!

Nick I used to run:  393s -> mp2 -> d7 and loved the sound....it's amazing what a good pre can do!!   I can only imagine what adding the sbm-1 would do!!  ;)

Pretty silly when a rig that is worth about $2000 is "mid-range" !! :P

Have fun with new toy!
