Ok, I'm trying to put this:

SoundPro's says it'll work, but I have a show tomorrow and they're not open on Saturday's to ask them exactly how to get it done. Maybe I'm just a moron, but I can't for the life of me figure it out. Anyone ever done it before have any advice?

You can make it work. Give each band 1 twist on each side of the bar. Creates kind of an X pattern when you look at it from the end. However if you plan on bending the arms around to run DIN or something it will not work. The weight is too much for the bands to hold and the bar will rotated down. They built me a custom piece to remedy that. Mine is the 24" model.

I've got the same tbar (24), but I like to run my mics XY, so I have to bend the bars around. Guess I'll need a custom piece too...Nice that they let you know that on the site.

I've not used the shockmount, but seen it, so forgive me if I'm a bit out of line...

I think you can use the 8415 by, rather than inserting bar through it normally, pull the right band to the left, and left to the right and put bar into the mount that way. It will create much more tension than sliding it through without crossing the bands. That is the method used by similar looking (to me) devices, such as the tensimount shocks.

If you are already doing this, or it is just not feasible, just smack me.

Gotta love ASCII diagrams. On the left, both vert and horz bands together. The diagram's a little busy, so on the left I did just the vert bands - a little easier to visualize, I think. Of course, rotate 90º to translate the vert to horz. The @ symbols is your mic or t-bar.

For some reason, the following additional text would not display correctly in my previous post - it truncated the text in the middle. Weird.

You probably have already, but I'd try taking the flex bar out of the little mount it comes with and put just the flex bar through the shockmount and see how that works. I don't think the flex bar holder - the thing that screws onto your stand - will be long enough to slot through the shockmount.

Well they sell it without the shockmount, just a mounting bracket. I guess they don't expect you to use a shockmount with it. However they did mod mine for free.

Here is the piece they made me. It is flat on the bottom to give the bands more to grip on.
