Kenwood RFU-6100 Wireless Speaker System
« on: June 22, 2005, 04:47:56 PM »
Anyone have one of these for their surround speakers?

Kenwood RFU-6100 Wireless Speaker System

Product Description
"The Kenwood RFU-6100 eliminates one of home theater's biggest hassles: wiring the surround speakers! Our Future Ready wireless surround speaker system uses separate RF transmitter and receiver units that eliminate the speaker AC plugs found on conventional wireless speaker systems and allows you to use higher-quality surround speakers than are typically found in conventional wireless surround speaker systems; you use your own surround speakers so that your system remains perfectly matched. The separate RF receiver unit has a built-in high-power digital amplifier for the surround speakers (up to 50 watts x 2), which dramatically improves sound quality over conventional wireless systems, and it can be used up to 100 feet away from the transmitter. Active circuitry reduces noise interference, and 4 selectable RF transmission channels eliminate interference from other RF devices. The Auto Power On/Off function means you never have to turn the RFU-6100 off or on manually."

It's not a completely wireless solution since you have to run speakers from the remote unit to the satellite speakers, but saves running the speaker wire across the room...  I'm just wondering if anyone has tested one out - I've read mixed reviews online...
