The separate RF receiver unit has a built-in high-power digital amplifier for the surround speakers (up to 50 watts x 2), which dramatically improves sound quality over conventional wireless systems, and it can be used up to 100 feet away from the transmitter. It's not a completely wireless solution since you have to run speakers from the remote unit to the satellite speakers, but saves running the speaker wire across the room...  I'm just wondering if anyone has tested one out - I've read mixed reviews online...
