Is there a way to set the jb3 so it defaults to 16bit 44.1 instead of MP3?

Also, is there a way for it to automatically go into record mode on startup?

I believe the answers are no and no.

If you have already started and stopped a recording in 16/44.1 it will start the next one with those settings but not from a cold start.

When I got my jb3 I practiced going through the sequence of starting the recording and setting it as .wav and locking the keys.  Do it early do it late do it buzzed do it distracted and you will never botch a recording.
