Title: EAC ?: How do I get the freedb tagger to work?
Post by: Ben Turnbull on April 30, 2018, 07:56:38 PM
I've sort of been aware of the ability to "auto tag" files ripped via EAC using the link to freedb.org. I managed to get the app to point to a URL that was auto populated, but can't see the mechanism to turn Track01 into "Hell's Bells" or what ever the song title is. It does seem to read the disc and auto load the disk name and artist... is there more to do? The Help is... well no help, at least to me, as it's greyed out.

Is there another method that's easier to implement? I'm on the "house manager's" wifi and don't know if there's any firewall issues going on... Couldn't fix it if there was.

TIA

Working for me I load the disc, then go to Database, and hit "get cd information from", click on that and you get a free db.org.

Yeah, I finally got the connection to work... but when I cut the tracks, the track titles don't get written out. Something like 019B0BAD0B.wav gets written.

I must be doing something wrong...

Screw it. I'm gonna use NCH's Express Rip which is working just great out of the box. Connected right up and is pretty easy to figure out. We'll see how it does on error reads etc. but for now I'm all in.

Go to F9 - EAC Options
Click on the Filename tab

You can then select how you want the filename formatted, including using the track title loaded by freeDB

Something like:
%tracknr2% %title%

Ha, right under my nose. I thought I'd seen reference to it before I went and posted... Thanks for the dope slap.
