Are these rechargable AAs?  If so, many chargers have a discharge feature that will drain them completely and then re-charge to full capacity afterwards.  If not, yeah...flashlights work well.

fwiw/fyi.......
The replacement lamps on maglite bulbs recommends not using rechargeables to power them. I went through a bunch of bulbs before I read this disclaimer.

hmmmmm, thanks for the warning Mike, Ill look into it. T+

im sure you could build a ultra simple circut to drain batts for you ... might be an interesting DIY project to. I personaly would have no idea how you would go about doing this, but many of the people on here seem to know a HUGE amount about ... well everything, so im sure someone would know how to do this.

actuly ... i'l bet you could pick up a fan and a AA battery holder at radio shack for under $5 i think there is a mini fan thing that runs on 6v DC ... so using that just to burn power you could drain 4 AA's at a time.... its 1am, so this idea might turn out to be real stupid in the morning.

Get a wireless optical mouse.  Mine eats them like Oprah goes after Twinkies.
