R-09HR can't remember the last stopped position ?

Hi,

  I am not sure if other recorders have the same issue like D50, MR-1 or even PD-660...

  When I switch on the unit again, it can't remember the last stopped position. 

  For example, if I play a 40mins long sound clip and I stopped in the middle (say 23 mins 33 sec) and next time, I switch
on the unit again ... Is it possible to start playing at 23mins 33sec ? 

  Right now, I can't see any setting to do that even with the new firmware ...  It is real annoying for not playing back for the
last  stopped position especially for those long sound clip.

  Pls advise.

does ANY device do that?
as far as i know if you turn the power off you lose the spot, at least thats how every device i have works

Many/most DVD players can do this.  I think my PS3 does this with blu-rays as well.  But my R-09HR does not.  :P

my dvd players are older so maybe i need an upgrade - they only remember the spot if you stop it, turn the power off and your toast

A Rockboxed iHP-120 can be set to do it. Maybe because it was designed primarily as as mp3 player.

I have/have had a lot of other recorders and I don't think any of the others will do it. However except for trying to preview a recording driving home from a show, I never play recordings on my recorders other than the iHP-120, so I could be wrong.

My JB3 has a set bookmark option.  Not quite what you are asking, but I can set a bookmark during any audio file and resume it later.

zoom h2 have markering, adding cue points while recording, maybe can resume, but i'm not sure.
