I've only ever owned the AT4051 (and 4051a), so I've never compared them to any of the other lines of AT SD mics. Great mics though. The others in that line are also great - AT4049 and AT4053 (in their a and b iterations). Easily comparable to the AKG 460 and 480 lines IMHO (although they sound a bit different than the AKGs). An underappreciated line of microphones and pretty affordable used (in comparison to other similar mics).
