Fob black cheesecloth for draping over rig?
« on: March 20, 2018, 09:44:27 PM »
Hey now,

In the days when I used to to a bunch of fob phish shows, after the days of wearing the hat, when we switched to always using stands, I had a large piece of black cloth we draped over the stand. It was given to me, did a great job of disguising the stand from a short distance, and didn’t interfere with the sound at all. I have since lost the cloth during the last several moves.

I’m hoping to do 6-10 shows fob this summer, and would like to pick up another piece. Do you guys just use black cheese cloth? Is there a specific fabric type/brand, and place to buy it online. I’m kicking myself for losing it. I went to our local fabric store, and didn’t see anything similar. Little help here?

Feeling sheepish for having to ask,

Not my thing, but I think what is used is black speaker cloth.

Black lace + Hoff =

But in all seriousness, if you go this route you might need to wash it a couple times so it'll drape easier:
