I've been getting a lot of tips from these guys in my email. Pretty good overall. This one on mastering is a good overview if you think you want to stir the pot. He doesn't bash headphones as such, they have a place... Touches on process and room set up and some insights on the signal chain.

Thanks for bringing that up.

I've found the Izotope videos to be pretty helpful.

Here's one that's really interesting. It's an interactive tutorial that plays several different examples and you try to hear the EQ or compression. You also get to test your own approach:
