Has anyone tryed a battery hack? It should be child's play to open a battery and make a dummy
to run off external usb power. I think me and Nicky C can make these and sell them if there is enough interest.
I get max 100 minutes on my best batteries. I hate having to take a camera down from a mounted position to change out the battery.
Lets get this project going!

I just bought the battery>2xUSB cable and can run the camera off a massive external battery pack.

Nice tip Chris - I just ordered the coupler USB power kit with the dummy battery.  I really hate lugging even more gear around than I already am, but that is just too good to pass up.  Especially when I'm filming open and using the ZS100 as B roll cam.  Put a 256GB card in it, hook it up to a couple of power packs and let it run for the next 4-5 hours filming in 4K.  Can't beat that with a stick.

Ed - did you cut a little slot into the camera body into which you can insert the wire and close the battery compartment?  Seems like a good idea since it doesn't take much pressure on the internal latch (for the battery itself) to unhinge.

If this is what you did, please post a pic.  Thx.

I didn't need to grind anything. It fit through the hole in the door.

So yesterday I'm looking for this hole ... and thinking "WTF ... ain't no hole."

Got up this morning, had my morning cup of coffee ... and I'll be damned ... now there's a hole!

Kind of funny, but I never looked closely enough at the battery/SD card compartment door to notice that it has a (what I now know from a little bit of research) reserved power cable outlet.

Thanks again Chris.

I need my camera to sit on shelf’s and seats
the wire sticking straight out of the bottom doesn’t
work for me, my notch does. Actually Nicky cut the notch

If you did a little carving and drilled a hole through a block of wood you could screw that to the camera and notch the wood for the dummy battery . might save one from grinding on ones nice new camera.
