Zoom 32 bit recorders.
« on: October 16, 2019, 12:36:49 AM »
My understanding is that the F6 is Zoom’s only recorder that offers 32 bit recording.  I’m wondering if anyone has knowledge of Zoom planning to upgrade the F8n to offer 32 bit, or coming out with an entirely new model in an 8 track recorder, or perhaps a unit with more than 8 tracks.

Upgrading the F8n to do this is not possible.  It doesn't have dual-ADCs.

Your guess is as good as anyone's about future models, but if the F6 is successful then I imagine you'll see other units in the line that do 32-bit float.

Personally, I would love to see this implemented into something tiny like the H1n.

Ditto. I'd love to have a 2 channel 32-bit hand-held recorder for  >:D. Power on, hit record. Run levels relatively hot.

I mostly run open, but for James Bond sessions I'd like to run hotter levels and knock down that loud clapper/grunter that is almost always adjacent to me and causes peaks.
