a20 shock mount problem
« on: January 22, 2006, 03:27:27 PM »

On the sleeve of my a20 one of the little tips that hold the elastic has broken off.

Does anyone know if they sell replacement sleeves?

http://www.posthorn.com/S_parts.html

Look under Replacement Parts, it's listed as "Center-piece microphone cradle for A 20, A 20 S Elastic Suspensions", and sells for $8

Hmmm... I wonder if that mic cradle witll work in a SD C-4 shockmount?

Is this the best/cheapest place to get these?

Get them at Posthorn.  Jerry Bruck has been so kind to our community, he deserves as much of our biz as possible.  We are talking 8 dollars a sled....pick up an extra, and some elastics while you are at it!

I'd recommend getting anything Schoeps related from Posthorn, as Andy said above, Jerry Bruck deserves as much of our business as we can give.

As far as whether or not it's the cheapest option - anytime you can get anything made by Schoeps for under a hundred bucks is a good deal...  ;)

I also need to put a plug in for Jerry.  He seems to know more about the Schoeps details than any other dealer I have encountered.   And he stocks obscure schoeps parts - active cable by the foot, internal active parts, etc.

also, schoeps prices are pretty much going to be uniform across the board. they won't let retailers lower the prices and compete.
Schoeps MK4s > active cables > NBox+ > Edirol R-09HR

I just bought these from Jerry at PostHorn, thinking they would work with my C-480's.
They are too snug, so I can't use them.
If anybody is interested in them let me know.
