Well, with those mics, weight isn't a factor. Those mics will work on any stand. The real question is do you need something that is more compact but only goes up to maybe 9ft or a bigger heavier stand that will go much higher.

Seriously! ^ The weight isn't a consideration, but wobbly isn't good either.
My go-to stand is a steel AKG vocal stand, taht I cut in half. So now its a 2'=>4' stand, with an adaptor of 5/8-20female > 3/8-16male thread. To that I mate a series of 1', 2', 3' thread rod adaptors. So, extend the base to 4', and add a 3' adaptor, you're set for low profile work, or add another daptor for different reaches.
These thread rod adaptpors are light enough to use with a quality clamp system as well.

Are those the ones in the "onstage pics" thread? I liked that whole setup.

Whatever stand you choose, make sure you get yourself a roll of gaffers tape. Nothing worse then seeing a few grand in mics topple over cause a stand gets bumped by some drunkin wook.

I guess I a m looking at a stand with stability that I would tape say DMB.  I hear some stands at 12 feet

what is the recommended height?

above the chatter, which at a dmb show, could be in the rafters somewhere

8' is a good height for most applications...

while some dmb tapers run the stands from 12-17 ft. I would recommend not going above 9-10'...that is where I have run when I tape DMB and am generally happy with the results.  From higher up, I have found the mix to be uneven (when stack taping) and shrill as hell at times.
