Sorry, I don't use windows, so I'm not familiar with that
software. I like to use sox for bass rolloff. It has a nice
gentle 6db per octive highpass filter. You can get it from
http://sox.sourceforge.net - There is a windows binary
available.

I usually rolloff at 100 or 80 hz. If it is really bass
heavy, I run it multiple times.

sox infile.wav outfile.wav highp 100

Btw, I grabbed 4/17/06 from Dime last night. That is realy
sweet! :)

You should be able to do a highpass filter on both of those programs. I forget what the option is called if it is not EQ or Parametric or 4band. Just go through them and look. Once you run it save as and give both a god listen in different systems even if it is just a clip of each. I would say anywhere from 69-120Hz would be suitable

Just suggesting here - but why not just torrent the files as is, and let others do there own EQ. I know a lot of people prefer the sound of subtle EQ via a stereo component rather than software EQ which can sound, harsh...

Look for something call graphic eq, parametric eq, or highpass filter or bass rolloff in SF there with any of those you should be able to reduce the amount of bass. You shouldnt need much more than roll off at 69Hz-100Hz

here's a sample echoes...the bass is tamed a bit when rolled off, but the recording is brittle in the loud passages, that's what needs worka s well. It's not fom going over "o"...maybe the mp2 is the culprit...cuz I did run a lil gain on night 1 Vs zero gain on night 2...lemme know what you think or can do!

The raw source sounds great as is, IMO, no "work" necessary.

seriously? must be playback gear then...cuz It's not right on my end....did you grab night 2?

Seriously.  But I like robust bass.  Didn't used to, but as my playback system has improved (and it still has a looooong way to go), I'm more of a basshound now than I used to be.  I just don't feel like the recordings "take me back" without a robust low end providing impact on playback.  The rolled off source doesn't sound bad, mind you, I just prefer the raw source.  Ultimately, it's your recording - do what you wanna do.
