Hi Everyone!
I'm a bit new to all of this. I have a SONY MD player and though I have a Sony microphone, I'm thinking about looking into buying another microphone to upgrade the recording quality. I will be using the microphone to record classical music mainly. Can anyone recommend where to buy a reasonably priced (less than $200) microphone? If anyone has microphone suggestions, I'm also listening  ;D
Thanks!

Hi Chris!
Thanks for the fast reply. I checked out your website. The CMC-19s are listed on the website for $59. Are you selling them for $59 or $40?

Also, I have a Sony MD MZ-R70 and am presently using the Sony ECM-MZ907 microphone. I'd like to get a smaller and better quality microphone yet am limited by a budget. As I mentioned, I mainly use my MD for recording classical music.

If you have any other suggestions they are welcomed.

Thanks!

I note from the website that the 19's are described as "low sensitivity" - are they responsive enough to record classical and unamplified sounds without maxing out the gain?

Also, the CMC2s are AT831s, right?

I'm not too sure to be honest, I used them last night to record a loud rock gig.

Maybe check out the CMC-20's, same price, maybe have different specs.

As listed above, check out the sound professionals.  I'd go with cardioids if you're gonna be taping classical and unless your classical music is very loud you're don't want a low sensitivity mic.
Take care of the tapers and the tapers will take care of you.
