Topic: Noob Clamp Question

Ok, Im a noob so bear with me here.

I'm looking for a versatile clamp for my mics.

Is there one out there that can be clamped vertically and horizontally? Say from a Metal Ceiling post in a bar or a balcony rail?

Any input is greatly appreciated...

I like this one better than the windtech mount, which I also own.  The top chrome part of the one in the auction extends out about 3-4 inches.  It's larger than the windtech mount but it's extremely versatile, and rock solid.  Come to think of it, I recommend both.

I also own and recomend BOTH the rowi+windtech I think you need both for diff situations

I made this a while back for about $7 in parts plus an extra thread adapter that I had kicking around.  I've used it vertically and horizontally and have clamped to both round and flat surfaces and it seems to work well.

I have two of these: http://www.pedcopods.com/specsulc.htm.  They are inexpensive, versatile, and small.  The only limitation is the jaw opening which works fine on pipes and stands but may not be enough for a balcony rail.  Cardellini makes some beautiful clamps: http://www.cardelliniclamp.com/products.htm, looks like you could squish the rail with the Model 2M.   Matthews also have versions of these called "Mathellini".
