Title: Pre-amp question for Tascam DR-1
Post by: tgakidis on February 27, 2008, 08:47:31 AM
I have a Tascam Dr-1 on order right now and am trying to figure out the best pre-amp/phantom power solution for around $200.  The tascam records 16/24bit and 44.1/48mhz with a 3.5mm mic in (stereo, high & low gain options) , a 3.5mm line in (stereo fixed level at -10dbv) and a 1/4" mic in (mono, unbalanced).

What are my options for those inputs and and what would produce the best bit rate & mhz?

I was looking at the M-audio fast track with an external 9v dvd battery.  I like the flexibility of using this pc based as well as for field recording on a digital recorder.

I currently have sennhizer mke 40 cardiods (3.5mm) that i run into my sony HIMD mini disc (Getting the DR-1 beacuse 50% of the music I record goes over the 94 minute mark).  I know i can use this for the DR-1, but was thinking of upgrading to AT3035 with pre amp/phantom power.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
