Mic placement question
« on: January 25, 2005, 09:43:07 AM »
maybe someone can help..

Is there a reccomended mic placement/height for setting up a pair of mics on stage to capture the audience for a matrix recording? right at the stage lip is probably out of the question because they it will be a pretty rowdy shows

Also will SM58s sound ok for capturing this?

thanks

try on the side of the stage w/ a boom elevated and pointing straight back (w/o getting blown away by the PA) or even from the SBD.
If the crowd gets too roudy set a limiter or compressor on it.
