Wind Screens for MK4 Caps
« on: February 03, 2009, 08:18:24 AM »
Recently picked up some MK4 cards over at the yard. I plan on picking up some Rycote INV7 but need some ideas on good wind screens.

Thanks

For indoors I liked the Schoeps B1 (really just for dust/smoke), B5 or DPA UA0896 (for mild HVAC), outdoors the Shure A81WS.  Always dreamed of Rycote Baby Ball Gags, but never pulled the trigger.

here is a thread with some comparison pics of the schoeps windscreen options:

FWIW i have the B5's for indoors and the shure a81ws for outdoors. i think i need some rats though for added protection from the wind in some venues.

I use the DPAs that were mentioned and would recommend them. The Shures for windy outdoor shows.
