That's my set up and the clips are sennhizer clips for the k3u/me line, 19mm.  I have searched everywhere for another pair, including Sennhiezer, with no luck.

The very compact Sennheiser clips seems to be included with some mini tripods/stands.

MZT 105-1

MZT 105-1

Roger

I found those also and tried to get parts from sennhieser with no luck.

Hi,

They can be found here in Europe, http://www.thomann.de/gb/sennheiser_mzt417.htm

Roger

I ment just the clip part.  Not prepared to spend extra for the base.

I think that the plastic Sennheiser tripod (MZT 417) is almost for free. Most of the price is for the mic clip.

Here are some photos of my latest project...

Franken-Naks (Busman mod)
Busman shock (I shortened the stock shock and removed the twisty-thing)
(2) Audix D-clips (held together with nylon all-thread)

I used two small rubber bumpers to take up the space in the shock cradle. (bottom picture)
The D-Clips are really snug in there that way.

I got a pair of Busman shocks and found that they are smaller than the Studio Projects/Joe Meek shocks I've been using.

I got lucky that the diaphragms are exactly 17 cm apart to make DINa, my prefered cardioid pattern.

Very cool Chuck, nice little setup you put together.

Is the nylon threading you're using 5/8"-27, or are you using 3/16" with the adapter inserts into the D-clips?

Thanks.  ;D

3/16" nylon bolt with the Audix D-clip 5/8" to 3/16" adapter inserts. It's the same size as the nylon bolts that hold on a typical toilet seat.
I found that the nylon had enough give in it that I could screw those two clips together pretty tight and get everything to align well.

I am quite pleased with it.

Real nice Chuck!  I took your plastic bolt idea from the beginning of the thread and used it with a similar set up.

Nice looking setup Chuck!

By the way, DIN are 20 cm and 90 degrees. OTRF are 17 cm and 110 degrees. NOS are 30 cm and 90 degrees.

Here is a nice simulation of various setups.

That bottom link is great. Thanks.

Some of us take liberties with the traditional stereo mic pair spacings.
Like my calling 17 cm (ORTF spacing) at 90 degrees (DIN angle) DINa.

Nice work Chuck! How much did those clips run you? Might have to pick up some parts for the actives that are on the way.

The Audix D-clips were $10 each through Guitar Center.

The MBHO HK-1135 (98-8045)  look promising for low profile 21mm microphone clips.
