Glad my old mic stand broke so I had to get a new one and found this. Very solid and only 2 knobs to adjust to get it to full height.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003TM600U/ref=pe_175190_21431760_M3T1_ST1_dp_1

The rubber knobs on the legs were loose, though, so I had to crazy glue them in.

I feel like Goldilocks. My first stand had too big of a footprint for theatre shows and my last one was only 8' and I to clamp on it because I was never able to get situated correctly with an adaptor. This one is just right. This new stand and retiring the Tekkeon batteries has rebooted my taping attitude.

I used this stand for a festival last year and will be using it for that same one again this year.  For the price it is a real winner.  Definitely not as well made as a Manfrotto/Bogen or classic Shure stand in terms of the weight and the connectors, but at that price, it doesn't have to be.  The carrying case is a nice bonus, and makes me kind of mad my Manfrotto didn't come with one.

I am only going up for Friday when Railroad Earth plays. Then the rig will go in the car. No way am I going to fight the crowds at SCI solo when SCI does the livedownloads. Then heading home Saturday to get ready for the drive to Panic at Targhee. Going to take 3-4 days to drive out through North Dakota and Montana and that starts 7/4.

This stand has dropped down to $24.16.

I'm sure the price will bounce back up to $31, but for $25 and free shipping (if you pad the order) it seems like a no brainer.

I grabbe one of these a few months ago and last night at a show I noticed the zipper fell of the bag and I had to cut the bag open with a knife.  Bummer as that was one of the selling points.

My bag is on the floor covered in cat hair. Using it was too much of  PITA.

This is a great stand for the price, and what I've been using for a while.  I had to hot-glue the feet in like others have stated in Amazon reviews.  The only other significant point against is that I've found the finish scratches easily.  But for the price, it's extremely stable.  I put a saddlebag weight on it when running full height just in case.

Last week I borrowed some mics and ran 6 channels all at the top of the stand - by far the most weight and dollar value I have ever put on it - Schoeps MK4/MK8 M/S setup w/ CMC bodies, AKG C214s, Church CA-14s, and various mounting hardware which added another few pounds.  It held solid.  I will say that with that much weight the air cushioning can no longer be trusted - it was a good thing I was holding on to the posts as I released the locking collars during teardown.
I am hitting my head against the walls, but the walls are giving way.
