I've got a pair that terminate in a stereo miniplug.
whats the best way to power these from here?

9v 3 wire setup?

No, you should use 9V 2-wire setup.  Ie., a standard (SP, or otherwise) battery box.

Something about the guts of those mics helps prevent overloads.  (I think) there is at least one extra transistor in there (emitter follower) and probably some sort of source resistor ("4.7k mod") on the FET.  Would love to see details if anyone is brave enough (???) to look inside!

i've got a standard SP battery box as well.  one of the jobies that has the roll off DIP switches.
