To me, effective archiving means ensuring my data is stored in at least 3 different places, preferably one of them offsite.  FWIW, I didn't answer the poll question because selecting a single answer in the poll wouldn't accurately reflect my primary media, since it's mixed media (mirrored HDDs, optical media, and off-site HDD).  Two links:

I burn the original wavs to DVDR before I listen or do anything in an editor.  Thats me just being anal and extra cautious.  I feel pretty safe once I have the original files on DVDR and they verify. All the tracked 24 and 16 bit FLACS go onto externals and circulated through etree/archive.

(I really need make offsite copies though...)

what about CDs?
Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.

I am relying on DVDs right now - I use the 4.7s because there is not a lot of reliable information on realistic lifetimes of DVD media and I figure it is reasonable to assume that as dye and data density go up disc lifetime goes down.

Terabyte drives are really affordable, so sometime in the near future I am gonna setup a box with a couple of terabytes.

I archive my raw master files on 2 DVDs, one DVD-R and one DVD+R, due to the differences in the way they are structured and not knowing which one has the longest total life expectancy/future format compatability. I keep the converted and tracked files on external HD as well.

I use all hard drives. At my home i have a drive and a backup drive
i store all my masters raw and tracked.

I have a 3rd hard drive stored offsite. So each 500 gigs i accumulate
i have 3 drives. I also put each of my shows on cdr and leave all of these
offsite.

If i have a total failure at home, i will have back-ups off site on
hard drive (one week behind, so i might lose my masters for 1 or 2 shows)
but will still have 16/44 cdr's.

DVDR and a harddrive for now.  Adding a second harddrive sometime soon because I consider DVDR backup to be a really lousy solution.  I've discovered that my DVDRs don't seem to be very universally readable...IOW, if the disc isn't written and read by the same machine, then there may be data read problems.  My experience anyway.

You need at least 2 different mediums IMO.   I do DVD SL and HDD.  I would love a 4.5GB RAID 5 setup but just can't put the cash here yet for that - and can't wait for SSD's to get cheap!!!

Long term I would expect SSD and BluRay multilayer (8 layer+ -> if they can make the burners and media cheap enough).

Music can at the least least explain you and at the most expand you

I still use Cd-rs (because i have a bunch good quality cd-rs and only generic dvd-rs)...
So i try and keep 1 copy on Cd-r and one on a external HD/on archive.org. About 90% of my tapes from the last 3 years are on the LMA, I'm a big fan of that project (as well as a curator ;D)
ADK A-51s LE's > Oade W-mod UA-5 > Zoom H4n Pro if I bother to drag out a full rig. More often just the H4N Pro. My LMA tapes
