Guess this is a power question. But It's also a pre/AD question IMO.

For the few still running these what are you powering them with? Real tired of lugging 2 12v's around.

when I ran AD2K+, I bought a couple of 12V NiMH batteries from batteryspace.com.  They don't have the one that I used, but they still have others.  I had Ed from Kindkables build me a custom cable that was 5 pin XLR (or 4...don't remember) from the AD2K to Tamia.  Worked like a charm and weighed about the same as a standard Li-Ion pack.

Nice keep them coming!

I meant to put ad1k, but the ad2k is 12v as well.  So I guess it's all good.

Thanks Mike

I ran my AD1000 off an Electrovaya PowerPad 160 (15-16V Battery).  I built a Voltage Regulator that would regulate the battery output down to 12 volts.

The PP160 weighs around 2 lbs and would run at about the equivilant of a 10AH 12V SLA with my setup.  I put this setup together back in early 2002.

They are kind of pricey at about $300 online nowadays - I paid well over $500 for mine in 2002 (Ouch!!!) but I am still using it today without issue with my SD702 (and no regulator is required).

Nowadays, you should be able to use one of the battery geek batteries, such as a 10-14-88 (should run pretty close to a 7.2 12V SLA - the typical Eco-Charge size - or run the AD1K for about 4-5 hours)

Weighs about 2 lbs.

I've been powering my rig off of a 10.8V Li-ion (homebuilt from ebay parts) since 2003.

The ad2k has all of its headroom down to about 9.5V. I have a switching regulator built in that delivers a constant 6.00V to the v3 and extends run time instead of wasting heat in the V3

the 10.8V li-ions run from 12.5 down to 10.8 before voltage starts tumbling rapidly.

heres the page i made about it way back when.

i recently bought new cells for like $1 each on ebay
