Tickets are dead to me.  Except the ones I have, don't have, and lost.  Not to mention the ones you have, don't have, and lost.   And the ones that other dude has, doesn't have, and lost.  Let me know if you need some tickets, I'm happy to oblige.

For the price, the Audio-Technica 933 and 853 are tough to beat.

I like the 853's too- as long as they are phantom powered.

Guess we should also ask what kinda shows you'll be taping since alot of bands probably don't throw the kind of atomic sub sonic assault that the crazy metal bands do.  With mild music the sound pros mics will work.  If you're taping loud shit, don't buy those, listen to the fife'ster.

Anything that sounds good and is easy to hide.  Count my vote for a set of Neumann SKM's.  I have the 140's.

Ditto.  AT853RX (phantoms) .  There's a pair in the Yard Sale for $250 w/ cardioid caps.

Good luck.   :)

how big is the battbox and preamp needed to go with these..?

any pics..? i assume that these can fit inside of a hat...

how do these compare - size-wise - with the dpa compact cardiods..?

yes they fit into a hat...I used to run them in a kangol....from a powering perspective they need the full 48V power to keep them from distorting at loud shows...the batt box does not give them enough juice...as a result I ran mine with a MP2

so pretty much, if i want cardioids, i have to go with the larger dpa/hat combo, along with a preamp..?

argh! why doesnt dpa make mini cardioids like they do with the omnis..?
