Title: AT853s to R09hr or Tascam D40 setup help
Post by: Jerseyboy on December 31, 2016, 12:22:24 PM
I'm seeking the correct setup/connection for my AT853s when going into an Edirol r09hr & Tascam D40.  I have a general idea, but I'd rather get experienced instructions when using these mics.  I have the adapter cables for each input.

Thanks in advance!

I am guessing you want a set up like this:

Contact ted and he can most likely make yer mics look just like these ---> taperssection.com/index.php?topic=171728.msg2127159#msg2127159 or give you whatever instruction you require to do it yerself.

I have everything pictured with the exception of the mic stand cradles.  I need detailed hook up info.  Such as do I use 48v phantom power on the d40, pip on the r09hr etc.  Can these mics run straight in without a pre-amp?

Thanks for your reply.

They will run either way, mic-in depending on what voltage your deck provides. I run mine almost always with the phantom adapters(providing I can get them in the venue), and Naiant TinyBox. They can really handle high SPL's with p48 phantom power.
