Title: problems opening a .wav file
Post by: hzgone on December 19, 2005, 06:32:33 PM
I have 3 files that someone gave me at work.  they are all wav files and whatever i try to open them in a get a missing codec error.  the files are 16/64 4 channel  then it says they are 22khz this is from the properties of the file.  Does someone know why these won't open in winamp or anything.

If they are not really multi-channel wavs then try CDWave.  It has the ability to ignore the header info and open many damaged wav files.  Then just resave.

If they are multichannel wavs then you will likely have to use Cool Edit Pro or Sound Forge where you can identify the files when opening.
