Title: Transformer for plug-in-power to increase voltage?

I'm using the PCM-M10 with Countryman B6's.  The PCM-M10 PIP delivers around 2.5V but the mics would prefer around 9V.  I'd like to avoid the bulk and complexity of a battery box.  Is there any sort of small transformer (/resistor) available that could plug in-line to simply increase the PIP supplied 2.5V to a higher voltage (/impedance)?

I doubt you'd find one that wouldn't introduce buzz/hum. They'd be more complex to build than a bbox.
Chris Church makes tiny bboxes. Small enough to use body cavities to get it thru security... :-)

A transformer won't boost voltage to the mics, since that's DC. An input transformer on a preamp will boost the signal from the mics, which is AC (but first, the DC power must be blocked from the input).

To boost the voltage to the mics, you need either a preamp that supplies plug-in power or a battery box.

I do not think that is a big problem the bulk and Complexity of a battery box, in fact, need 2 resistors and 2 capacitors, I fabricated one with the top of a Sony battery, no box and only wrapped in epoxy, i should upload a picture of it, well at other time, their approximate measurements are 1x1x2cms.
