Title: Need help with Lenmar DVDu9(?) and Apogee MMP
Post by: jadedphan on February 17, 2009, 02:10:05 PM
Hey now,

I got 2 lenmar lion batteries (think the dvd9u...they're like the standard at rat shack...dvd batteries).

Anyhow, it seems as though my Apogee MMP will deplete the battery if it's plugged in, even if the MMP is powered off.  Either that, or I may have a dead battery.  When it's done charging, instead of turning green and staying green, the green "charged" LED blinks red.  The new battery i bought turns green and seems to stay green once charged.  Has anyone else seen anything like this?  At 45$, it seems easier just to replace the questionable battery.  I am gonna (hopefully) have time to hook the battery up to the unit and test run times tonight....but just wasn't sure.

I'm taping several nationals this weekend for a video project, and am trying to determine if I need to purchase a new battery or not.

thanks much,
-bry

I am pretty sure that any electronic will draw "some" power even when not turned on.  I never leave them plugged in.

I've noticed the same thing on my mmp.  If I leave the battery plugged in for a few days my battery will be almost dead.

I've got a bunch of the various DVD player batteries and it seems like they all have their own bizarre ideas on what to to with the lights.  Some of them will blink green, others blink red, others don't blink at all.  I haven't been able to make any sense of it either.  What I do is just charge them overnight and ignore the lights.

mine turns green when done charging and nothing else. fwiw, i never leave any battteries plugged in until i get ready to power up my gear. i am always concerned about anything electrical and it corroding.
