Title: Current or Former M248 Owners...Question For Ya!
Post by: stevetoney on November 01, 2009, 01:39:52 AM
The M248 has three switches.  Can anyone give me specifics on the top and middle switch?

The bottom switch is clearly for power on/off.

The top switch is labeled HF+ >

The middle switch is labeled LF - >

I'm a little bit confused actually by these two switches because the preamp is very bright sounding and doesn't pass much low end through.

So, I'm curious about these switches because unless I'm misunderstanding, the top  switch would make the preamp even brighter (HF +) and the middle switch (LF -) looks like a bass roll off which would make the preamp even less warm than it already is.

Weird.

Top switch (HF+) is a high freq. boost.

Middle switch (LF - ) is a high pass filter, around 45Hz
