R-44 Oade Concert mod vs MiniMe vs Traveler preamps
« on: October 14, 2009, 07:45:24 PM »
Anyone with experience using R-44 Oade Concert mod, MiniMe, and Traveler together?

I have been using a stock R-44 with an Apogee MiniMe, but picked-up a Traveler and am sending my R-44 in for the Concert mod.

My question is, which channels do I want to use for my "money" channels with this combo?  I'm assuming the Apogee will be the "best" two (feeding digital in to the Traveler--both preamp and A/D on the Apogee), then the R-44 Oade mod preamps next best, then the Traveler preamps?

I won't have any opportunity to test the different preamp combos before recording a gig, so wondered if anyone had experience with all 3 units and could suggest a starting point.

My 10 channels would likely be used for this:

vocal/harp
Acoustic guitat DI
Steel guitar DI
Uke mic
4 Conga/Bongo mics
2 room mics

Any suggestions?
