I am trying to put an 11.3 gig file onto a 16 gig SDHC card. It keeps telling me the file is too large to fit.
I've reformatted the card, and it still won't fit. Anyone have any ideas?

Only thing that comes to mind is that there is something else already on the card. But that seems too simple... :)

the card is probably formatted with the FAT32 file system. FAT32 has a file size limit of 4GB.
options:
1. see if you can format the card something other than FAT32 (NTFS, exFAT, HFS+, ext4, just as some examples).
2. somehow split up the 11.3 gb file into smaller files, each one less than 4gb in size.

You could split it into something like .RAR files which will reassemble into the original.

2 other possibilities, could be a counterfit or a mislabelled 8gig card
