Is this kind of laptop that would make for a good recording? I wouldn't use a whole lot cause just seems to clunky. I was thinkinh i could throw in a bigger hard drive. Is 64mb and 333mhz enough? Thanks

333mhz should be enough processing power, i would upgrade ram to at least 128 if not 256, and definitely you'd want a bigger hard drive.
battery life will be an issue, you'll need external power. and under 2" thick is not really slim...just a thought. i have an old satellite that still works so you may do well getting this cheap and upgrading it.

don't go too happy on the RAm, win98 doesn't like more than 256MB

Win98 + 256 = okay.
Win98 + 512 = some strange shit.
There's a reason why its considered a consumer OS... No consumer in their right mind would want to run something with that much of a memory requirement.
