Title: Audiophile 2496 Help
Post by: onlywaytofly on October 22, 2003, 07:22:16 PM
So I gots it installed and all that good jazz. The thing is I still left my old soundcard in. I'm running soundforge 6.0 and when I hit play on my deck to transfer the show I get no sound at all. Is there something that I'm not doing right? I read in the audiophile manual that you should have sound by now and yes I know I went into the control panel on the m audio and set it up for an incoming signal. I also have gone into the windows device manager and disabled my other sound card as well (yamaha) and then I get no sound at all then I go back and enable it and I get sound. Basically I just want to use the audiophile as my main card and use my desktop speakers for right now until I can get a nice pair for transfers(any recommendations while your at it).  Any help would be great as far as configuring  anything and any pointers on soundforge as well as I do not have a manual. This transfer stuff is still all new to me and I've already seeded my first bt which was so easy now I just need to get this down.
Thanks -Scott-

Just disable the other card in your device manager.

Scott,

What are your desktop speakers plugged in to?

My guess is the speakers only have a mini-jack and it's probably still plugged in to the old soundcard. Is that the case?

I've got a Delta Dio 2496 and I had the same problem because the card doesn't have a mini-jack input for my desktop speakers. I went to radio shack and bought a mini-jack > RCA adapter so that I can plug my speakers into the analog out on the 2496. That might be what you need to do.

Your speakers have to be plugged into the Audiophile if you want to listen to the music that is going into that card. At least, that's my understanding.

if you want to recieve a signal from you DAT you need to have it set in the Hardware Settings to be on S/DIF in and to listen to your speakers you need it set to Internal Xtal, also check your bit rate and make sure it matches up to your recording (i.e. 48 or 44.1) Also go to the Patchbay/Router tab and set the far left to Moniter and the far right one to wav out spdif.  Hope this helps :)

Thanks to everybody as it's now working. They had what I needed at the shack and it works like a charm. -Scott- ;D
