Title: 24bit via UA5
Post by: Electric Cowgirl on November 03, 2003, 12:46:54 PM
Ok freeks-

I have gotten this error message twice now:  audio card cannont support the current bit or sample rate.  Check to make sure the audio card is not is slave or auto sync mode.

When I get this error I lose all levels on the comp, but I still have levels on my UA5....happens during the show, not before.

I have figured out why this happens.  It's a battery issue.  The battery has enough life to provide phantom power for about 20mins after the above error, but not enough juice to support 24/96 via USB. This really confused me since I had phantom power and levels, but no signal was getting thru to the laptop.

In order to fix this you must change batteries and restart the comp.

Just wanted to share incase anyone else has had this problem.

Becky...needs more power.  ;D

Nutty! Sounds like the UA5 has a lower tolerance for battery strength when running at a higher bitrate.

That's exactly what I am thinking!  Gonna test it out again this weekend.

I guess this kinda makes sense, is there any way to test the draw for various bit depth?
