Title: BT question - tracker stats
Post by: Brian Skalinder on November 16, 2003, 01:08:14 PM
Okay, so I just checked my BT stats on the Etree tracker for the Primus Chicago show.  It says:

Total UL: 232.7 kB/s
Total DL: 304.6 kB/s

How can the total DL be greater than the total UL?  ???

those are your Leeching totals, there are also totals for seeders. Obviously, the seeders will just have upload numbers, so this will help to equalize the numbers, thos they won't be perfectly equal

Right, so I get that part of it.

But the total upload bandwidth available from all the seeders and leechers together is 232.7 KB/s.  This is the maximum bandwidth available for the group of seeders/leechers to upload to others.  Which means this is the maximum bandwidth available for leechers to download.  Yet the tracker listed 320 KB/s as the download speeds.  So what I'm getting at is the tracker states downloaders somehow have an additional, phantom 80 KB/s of bandwidth.  This isn't possible, unless I'm completely missing something, and the tracker stats are f-ed up.

hmmm I just check it and they looked equal.  I'm not sure what's up, but as long as people get it, I wouldn't sweat it.  I really like etree's setup, it's better than any other tracker I've seen.  Rock on skalinder.  And if you don't plan on BT'ing the other 2, then I'll take a DVD-R copy of the flacs.  I'll send you some CD-R blanks
