At what voltage will the 744 running four channels shut down at?

Heard back from Sound devices today. 

The 744T is is operational between 6-8 volts, so technically it will die if it sees anything less than 6V. However, most Li-ion batteries "cliff" at a certain voltage, which means they go from say 7V to 6V many times faster than from 8V to 7V. To be safe, I would change my batteries when it started approaching 7V.

that the battery is nearly depleted. When the voltage reaches 6.3 volts the 744T will power down—
any recordings in-process will automatically be closed (stopped).

i've conditioned a few batteries. they have all been completely dead at 6.4v. takes quite some time to get there though.

You should not completely discharge Li-Ion batteries; it shortens their life.  Here is a good source of info on battery use and care:
