Rycote "Baseball Windscreens & Windjammer"
« on: August 03, 2017, 12:57:16 PM »
Have any of you tried using the new Rycote "light breeze" windscreens yet?  This is NOT what I would choose for wind protection during a windy outdoor show.  But interesting nonetheless.

From Rycote:  "The performance of the Baseball with the Windjammer fitted is -40dB wind noise attenuation, across the frequency spectrum."

Those look cool. Dig the electric green color that would work for the AKG's.  With the fur on I can't imagine wanting to tape terribly much in winds any stronger than they should be able to handle due to the effects on the sound regardless of rumble.

Yes, but what do you HEAR?

These look cool, but it's worth emphasizing from the sales literature that the Baseball alone is only meant to guard against light breezes from boom movements, and when combined with the Windjammmer will only protect from light winds.

So for our purposes, the Baseball would be best used indoors to protect from HVAC currents.  The Windjammer combo might then be used for outdoors on very calm days
