Title: Blumlein or Dummy head stereo?
Post by: b9audio on November 22, 2020, 07:12:03 AM
Did a recording with B9audio FSM88 and VR Ball microphone with Sonosax SX-ES84. This is only a practice session, not concert.
This is the mix the musicians like:

This is the comparison with FSM88 and VR Ball in various mix (added with effect)

This is the original version, no effect.

Let me know which microphone configuration you prefer.

I like the original version with no effect. But that's just me. I also prefer aud tapes to sbd tapes, so that my be why I like the sound on that one.

Its beautiful!

Dig it! Maybe my preference is the first clip. But I liked the high forward bias lat clip for processed.
THANKS for sharing and doing!

Blumlein? it is really good. Maybe I shall try a 3-channel setup adding an omni to increase LF richness.

I also like blumlein. And VR ball with lower forward biased is very spatial. All clips are very nice. These comparisons are useful, thank you for sharing it.
