Mounting Schoeps MK41V
« on: May 17, 2021, 11:59:38 AM »
I am looking for some help on mounting a pair of Schoeps MK41V caps.

I currently have a setup with MK22 caps: Rycote INV-6 (3/8" thread mounted on top of stand) -> Shapeways NOS/Active Cables mount.

I'd like to add a mic bar for the 41V caps to use in PAS with adjustable width/angles.  Any recs on mic bars and shock mounts for the 41Vs?

Any advice or recommendations?  Thank you!

Old thread, but I would contact Scott (SRS). He will custom make a mount for pretty much any setup you can think of.
Mics: mk4v/mk41v/mk22 > CMC1L/Nbobs, 4061, MKE2
Preamps: Mixpre-D, Nbox Platinum ABS
Recorders: Mixpre-6 ii, PCM-A10

Be sure and let Scott know that you're using nBobs if you are.  They are NOT the same size as the official Schoeps!!

As already mentioned, Scott will custom make any options that you request.  I think that the mount below is for the official Schoeps cabling.  Scott usually has "nBobs" listed in the description for the mount if they are for nBobs!!

Noah Bickart has a few bars for the nbobs designed for the mk22/vert caps through Scott. Very convenient.

Yes, I saw those and will probably be picking up one of those bars for my mk22/vert caps!

Thank you for the responses.  I ended up going with the MK41 caps.  And I am using SRS mounts for actives/Nbobs, and I used a C clamp to do 4 mics on my stand.

I should also say that I am blown away at my new MK41 caps. I had taped pre-COVID indoors with my MK22 caps and they were awesome but now outdoors and larger venues I really appreciate the 41 caps.

MK41s great for the larger venues.  I use mine in arenas, stadiums and festivals mostly.

I also run 41s and 22s into a MixPre-6. I had Scott build me a mount that can run all 4 channels at once. He made me a DINa / DIN bar and a NOS / PAS bar, it gives a lot flexibility and is very easy to use.

Could you show a picture of that bar?  I run my MK22 in NOS and 41 DINa. Curious what that bar looks like.

I don’t see it on the website. I could show you a picture if you’d like, just let me know!

Thanks.  I was hoping that it was on the website and that I just overlooked it.  I'd like to see what the bars look like if you could post a photo.  Thank you
