Title: for playback why does upsampling make any sense?
Post by: run_run_run on January 23, 2009, 01:18:02 PM
You have, what you have and so how can you make it better? Your destructing a wav form and putting it back together with more samples, in hopes it will sound better...

Please Explain

There's some good info, albeit quite technical, here:  http://www.mlssa.com/pdf/Upsampling-theory-rev-2.pdf

(edit) - and here:  http://www.audioholics.com/education/audio-formats-technology/upsampling-vs-oversampling-for-digital-audio

I will say that I enjoy listening to my DAC in upsampled mode, sometimes moreso than having the input clocked at the actual signal.
