Adding Right angle interconnects to chain?
« on: August 11, 2003, 12:50:24 PM »
I'm running Zaolla silver mic cables & want to get some rt angle interconnects to run the UA-5 from the bag. (maybe 1 or 2 feet).

The point of buying quality mic cables was for better sound. I'm assuming just adding any old connection will effect the quality? Thus a waste of the zaolla's?

Anyone have any suggestions on what I need to buy. Making them myself is not an option.

Thanks!

There are a few guys here that would put quality (Swiss-made, gold plated Neutrik) R. angle connectors on your existing cables for a small fee....actually I would talk to anyone who makes cables in the first place and see what they would charge you.  Oade, Kindcables are a few that come to mind...  You would end up paying shipping but if you aren't buying new cables (and you shouldn't have to) then your cable has to get to them for the change over.
Too bad making i'em is not an option as it's only 6 wires ;)...any way call a cable maker near you and see what they want....

Jeff,
I can solder some rt angles on those HQ cables for you if you want, you pay for parts.  Let me know.

Why is DIY soldering out of the question kindguy...I just made my first pair of canare/neutrik cables last week without any soldering experience...it really is quite easy....

just wondering...

sure, since Jeff never hit me back about his...

Don't be suprised if you send me 25 footers and you get 10 footers back, though ;)

In all seriousness, let me know and I'll hook you up.  Next week will be great for me, but I move in on Sunday and will probably be too busy to drive back over the hill and fire the soldering iron up.
