Title: How to contact bands on facebook?
Post by: RetroDude83 on May 18, 2011, 01:35:00 PM
I was wondering how you get to contact bands on facebook? I can't find any button or link for sending PM's to bands, even after I "liked" them/their facebook profile. Am I just blind? Not a big fan of that shitty site, but I have the feeling more and more bands refuse to check their myspace sites, that's why I want to get in touch with them via facebook, to ask for taping approval and so on.

usually if you click the "info" link you'll see they have some kind of email address posted.  I usually use that.

But no, you can't just send them messages on FB the way you can on MySpace.

Search for individual band members.    ;)  What I do.

Although it doesn't always work.  See Cornmeal.   ::)

When all else fails I usually just post directly to their "wall." I've found about 50% of the time it works and the other 50% of the time the message gets ignored (even for bands who are very active FB users). Better luck is usually had if you can find an actual email address for someone specific, a manager, publicist, band member, sound guy.

It should be noted that just because a band has a FB page doesn't mean they check it or post to it. There are some bands I know of where every single member of the band will have access and they will all post regularly but for other bands it's just a promotional tool that someone in their organization uses and the band has nothing to do with it.
