I'd say if you are willing to spend that.... go with separates! The B&K's are too warm for me, but if you have bright speakers it would be perfect if it sounds good to you.

you may want to look into the krell processors, I think there are 2, the showcase and the HTS7.1, I'm thinking of trying out the HTS7.1.. the showcase is right around the same price as this b&k

I believe this is the unit Mike Juday is running... sounds fantastic, looks really cool  8)

he's running all paradigm speakers

I think those might be out of the budget (not knowing what that is), but you can get the Rotel RSP-1066 for $1K and add a nice amp to that.  Many other options as well.
