Just curious ;)
What T-bar are you using (assuming you have to use one)?
With which mics?
Why?
Just trying to figure out which one to pick up... leaning toward the vert bar but they're too damn expensive everywhere I look >:(

the akg t-bar for use with my u89s and 140s, perfect 17cm

AKG T-Bar for NOS and DIN with Oktava 012's.
I also have a couple of homemade bars for other configurations and other mics.
The AKG bar can be configured for almost anything, I just flip my AT8410a shock mounts for ORTF. Though I don't run ORTF very often.
-
AKG bar is pretty versatile when used with the AT shockmounts. i got the vert and have only used it once so far.

Another one for the AKG 3-piece T-bar....140's DIN (else use the Neumann for ORTF and XY), also have the straight bar and the V-bar of which aren't used much. Mainly use them as loaners or when we are doing band work.

akg t-bar :coolguy:

I really liked the Shure Vert bar. I prefered it over the AKG bar because I always felt it was easier to use. The vark bar is great, too, if you are running some sort of active set up, but it is limited to XY/ORTF/DIN configurations. Kwon's bars are great, but limited to only one config. per bar.

I use the damn sabra som and i hate it. Ihave just been to lazy to pick up something else.
Where is the best place to pickup a akg tbar.
-
cascademedia.net has this one which seems as good as the AKG, otherwise I forget where I got my akg bar from

I think I got mine from Chuck Levein's (sp?) music store.
Oade carry them too I believe.
-
got mine from sonic sense. 19.50

Ya, I use the AKG (http://makeashorterlink.com/?M1B923D15) w/ a Rapido Quick Release(http://makeashorterlink.com/?Y6D925D15) I like it a lot.
-
sure vert... got a great deal. very easy to use, just as the akg bar, but more $$. You have more options w/ the vert, but you can alter the akg bar to do about the same as the vert.
-
Jesse, (or anyone else) about how far is it on the Shure vert bar verticly between your caps????
-
There is only about an inch inbetween the two threads at their widest point. You adjust the distance between caps by moving the mic inside whatever mount you use. Adjusting the angle of the mount is also a factor in determining capsule spacing. Follow this link to see the shure bar working with the AT mounts: http://oade.com/Tapers_Section/micsetup.html (http://oade.com/Tapers_Section/micsetup.html)
Hope this helps!
-
Ya thats what I meant, the distance between threads, not caps. THANKS!

i am not sure about t-bars, but at ABB the other night, sideshowbob had some really badass looking bar with colored dots, red, green, yellow, each indicating a different configuration, what is that thing called again? check into that!
-
:hmmm: might have to ask ssb about that...
I ordered an AKG bar, though
