No because the main problem with that mount is it does not allow for the "back vents" to work properly.. It would work for other types of mics just not mine.
And ps.. I thought it was pretty funny about the whole "bp" thing.. YOU did not look like an ass, kinda reminded me of something I would do lol...

Actually, Chris, correct me if I am wrong, but that hat mount would work fine with OMNI mics, including yours, because they don't have back vents... however, it would not work with cardiods of any kind.  Am I wrong about that?

During the brief time that I owned both the CA-11 mics and a Sound Pro 'taper hat,' I did use them together with success.  The CA-11 capsules are just about the same diameter as the AT853 capsules, and so you can get that size grommet for the hat and it will fit.  It's true that the 'vent holes' on the CA-11 will be blocked by the rubber grommet, so when I used them together I pushed the CA-11 out a bit so that they wouldn't be blocked and it worked fine.  The AT853 work better with the hat because the vents are not blocked even when the capsule is pushed right to the edge of the grommet hole (so that it is flush with the surface of the hat, perfect for stealth), due to a longer mic body, but still you can make the CA-11 work with it.  It's just not as sexy.

They would work with 853 or ca-11 mics if they are pushed out enough to get past the vent.. But you would have some strange directionality issues because of the gromit behind the vents.
